Sound engines
Two layers per channel. Twelve ways to sculpt sound and rhythm.
Every channel carries independent Layer A and Layer B engines with continuous morphing between them — from a finite-difference plate solver to Braids and Plaits ports, FM bass, chords, through eight-deep filter chains, into a hardware-modelled console.
Physical modelingMesh 2D FDTD plate oscillator
A real-time 2D finite-difference time-domain plate solver running on 8-wide SIMD. Five boundary geometries (Circle, Square, Ellipse, Hexagon, Chladni), dynamic re-strike interference, physical choke and damping, a live 16×16 modal vibration heatmap and up to four virtual pickups.

Modulation matrix
Forty modulators per layer. Four hundred and fifty targets.
Four LFOs, four envelopes, four Marbles and seven mathematical generators per layer, each with fifteen routing slots. Patch anything to anything with animated cables — then play it all from eleven macros.
Up to 4 / layerTempo-synced LFOs
Ten waveforms, a log/lin/exp curve knob, and a One-Shot mode that turns any shape into a custom envelope. Live visualizer.
Up to 4 / layerMulti-stage ModEnvelopes
Dedicated modulation envelopes with logarithmic and exponential tension, a hold stage and velocity scaling. 0.1 ms attack.
2 per channelXY pad controllers
Dual-axis performance control. Each axis drives its own bank of fifteen destinations with spring return.
4 per channelHandMade live automation
Draw or record freehand modulation curves in real time; they play back with sub-frame sequencer sync.
Generative physics & chaos

Polymetric sequencer
Sixty-four steps, thirteen banks, and a groove engine that writes with you.
An Elektron-inspired conditional step sequencer with per-step parameter locks, Song Mode, a block-based chain editor and a kit-level groove generator — exported bit-accurately to WAV and MIDI.

Per-step parameter locks
Lock any synthesis parameter on any of 64 steps with sub-frame offsets and conditional trigger logic.
13 pattern banks & Song Mode
Twelve lettered banks (A–L) for arrangement plus a dedicated global FILL slot. Export the arrangement as MIDI.
Kit-level groove generator
Interlocking rhythm sections across up to eight channels from one seed. Seven genre algorithms with syncopation weighting and polyrhythm drift.
Pattern chain studio
Block-based arrangement with drag-and-drop ChainBlocks, random pattern pools, repeat counters and probabilistic follow actions.
Smart Random 2.0
Ten musical archetypes and five sonic profiles generate morph-compatible Layer B siblings — a whole kit in one click.
Studio effects rack
Sixteen processors on every channel, zero added latency.
Each voice owns its own FX chain with free routing order and full parameter-lock automation — from tape and spring emulations to granular Clouds and Rings resonators running natively in the chain.

Standalone plugin hosting
Turn the whole matrix into a brain for your other plugins.
In Standalone mode TOMiC becomes a host: third-party CLAP and Omniplugin instruments sit inside a channel’s OSC or NOISE slot, and external effects sit in the chain — all driven by the sequencer, modulators and macros.
StandaloneExternal instruments on OSC & NOISE
Replace a layer’s oscillator or noise section with an external CLAP synth or one of Omni’s WASM Omniplugin instruments — up to four per channel. Each slot exposes twenty of the plugin’s parameters as fully modulatable TOMiC knobs with automatic MRU mapping.
- CLAP + Omniplugin
- 4 slots / channel
- 20 host knobs / slot
- Always-On mode
StandaloneIn-process CLAP effects on every channel
Eight external effect slots per channel and on the master bus, eight modulation lanes per slot, and a soft circuit breaker that silences a hung plugin instead of freezing the engine. Offline render parity included.
- 8 FX slots / channel + master
- 8 mod lanes
- Soft circuit breaker
- Offline render parity
Artchemy visual engine
Every hit paints. Stream it to the stage.
TOMiC turns groove triggers, rhythms, and modulator trajectories into live procedural art — for VJ sets, streams and OBS scenes, without touching the audio thread.
16 procedural brushes, 14 affects
Splatter, ink blot, stardust, particles, fractals, networks, tunnel, cellular automata, double pendulum and kaleidoscope symmetry.
WebSocket VJ streaming
Stream the live canvas to a browser, projector or OBS browser source on 127.0.0.1 with zero CPU penalty to the audio engine.
Audio-reactive hooks
Map velocity, gate length, pitch tracking and LFOs to brush density, hue rotation and gravity forces.

Questions, answered
Which formats and hosts are supported?
TOMiC ships as VST3, CLAP and a standalone application (64-bit). It runs in OMNi DAW, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reaper, Bitwig, Cubase and Studio One, among others.
Windows, Linux — what about macOS?
Windows 10 / 11 and Linux are supported, including a dedicated build for older Windows CPUs without AVX2. There is currently no macOS build.
How does licensing work?
Enter your email on the order page and you receive payment instructions plus a unique license key. The key activates automatically once payment is received. One payment, all future updates.
Where do I download the installer?
The Windows, Linux and legacy-CPU installers are linked directly on the order page. Your license key arrives by email when you place the order and activates automatically once payment is received.
Is plugin hosting available inside my DAW?
Hosting third-party CLAP and Omniplugin instruments and effects is a Standalone-mode feature. In VST3 / CLAP mode inside another host, TOMiC behaves as a regular instrument plugin.
